Course Description

The MSA is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in the rapidly growing and changing field of accounting. Upon completion of the MSA, the students will qualify for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Examination under the 150-hour requirement instituted by the Board of Accountancy of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2002. The curriculum has been designed by the College of Management Accounting and Finance (AF) faculty in consultation with the AF Department’s Advisory Board. To complete the MSA, students must complete a total of 15 courses (45 credits). These are composed of Business Core courses, Accounting Foundation courses, Accounting Capstone course, and electives. Students with relevant coursework can waive up to 8 courses from the required Business Core or Accounting Foundation courses.
