The following programs are available: M.A. in Statistics—Mathematical Statistics Specialization, or Applied Statistics Specialization; and Ph.D. in Statistics and Applied Probability, with two optional Ph.D. emphases (Financial Mathematics and Statistics and Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences). Specializations are not listed on a student’s transcript or diploma; however, emphases are listed on the transcript. In addition to departmental requirements, candidates for graduate degrees must meet the university degree requirements described in the “Graduate Education” section of this catalog.
