Course Description

This four year course includes a preparatory year (year 0), which is fashion focused and secures you a place on the BA (Hons) Fashion degree at UCA Epsom without further application or interview. The preparatory year gives you the opportunity to explore the many areas of fashion, including design and construction, illustration, fashion genre and styling. Introduction to design Visual communication and drawing methods Creative cutting and construction Introduction to design history and theory Fashion industries exploration Design specialism elective: menswear or womenswear Development of professional practices Theories of culture, identity and communication Final major project: design and creation of a collection Dissertation.

For those studying the four year course, upon successful completion of your year 0, you can continue directly onto the three year degree course without further application or interview.
