The Bachelor of Jewellery Design is a three-year full-time programme that will prepare graduates for the jewellery industry in Malaysia and internationally. Students will develop their theoretical and practical knowledge of materials such as metals, gemstones, glass, enamel and wood. They will learn the jewellery making process, from planning to the final piece. Future designers will develop business skills such as marketing and project management, including meeting deadlines and liaising with clients. This unique programme includes three (3) Major Studio projects and a compulsory internship, preparing students to start their career with an entrepreneurship focus. Students will understand contemporary and traditional styles of making jewellery and will try their hands on various materials. The theory modules will help future designers to understand how symbolism and material properties make people around the world pay premium prices for jewellery pieces. By the end of the degree programme, graduates will be skilled in drawing jewellery pieces on 2D and 3D interfaces. They will also have the ability to craft your their collections with studio-level machinery.
