Course Description

Plymouth University hosts both the National Centre for Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and the Centre for Experiential Learning; the latter two were awarded for excellence and national leadership in laboratory-based practical work and fieldwork. Our state-of-the-art laboratories have some of the most advanced equipment in the world and our new Immersive Vision Theatre can virtually place you anywhere -- from the earth's core to another galaxy. Employability is a key aim of the curriculum, and most courses include work-based learning options or work placements designed to prepare you for your future career. All our courses also include overseas fieldwork options, which have seen students travel anywhere from rural France to the rainforests and mountains of Patagonia. Small class sizes (average 15 people). Two possible start dates (January and September). Additional academic and non-academic support. Extra contact time with your tutors. The undergraduate pathway in Environmental Sciences prepares international applicants to study within the UK academic environment and receive heavily supported instruction towards their chosen Bachelor's degree specialisation.
