Bachelor of Applied Science Honours in Computer Science

Course Description

Computers and computer software are now as commonplace in the areas of education and recreation as they are in science, engineering and business. Most fields and professions rely on computers to assist in problem-solving and the efficient processing of information. Computers themselves are now relatively inexpensive, the hardware is mass-produced. It is the program, the instructions that control the computer, that transforms a piece of hardware into an indispensable tool. No other discipline has grown so fast in such a short time, and none has better prospects for its graduates in a world that does not cease to find new uses for information technology. Computer science offers a unique combination: scientific and interdisciplinary study; the growth prospects of a multi-billion dollar industry; and the ability for individuals to make a difference.
