Biology, B.S. leading to the M.A. in Education

Course Description

Do you love a particular subject and want to share your enthusiasm for it with young people? The strong liberal arts programs at Maryville University St. Louis serve as the foundation for secondary teacher preparation in mathematics, English, science (biology or chemistry) and social studies (with a major in history). When you earn a bachelor’s degree in your chosen subject and then earn a masters in education through our Secondary Education Undergraduate Bridge program, you’ll be able to do what you’ve always dreamed of – teach! Maryville’s program allows you to focus closely on your content area throughout your undergraduate years. National reports have continued to stress the need for high school teachers to have the strong background designated by the bachelors degree in the content area. Maryville’s early access option allows for experiences in schools and graduate credits before beginning your fifth year. The fifth year is spent entirely in hgih school settings. And you will be advised throughout your time by both an education adviser and a content area adviser.
