Course Description

The Film & Television program, a partnership between LSU and Baton Rouge Community College, is designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge not only to create and collaborate on and off stage, but on and off camera as well. The program is directly tied to the growing film industry in Louisiana, and its need for highly skilled artists, technicians, and administrative personnel. The Film & Television concentration is one of the ONLY programs in the country to include hands on courses in both production technology as well as acting for the camera and content creation. Graduates receive a B.A. in Theatre: Film/ TV Concentration. Students will develop a broad, comprehensive foundation in live theatre, electronic media, film production, and Acting for the Camera. Students choose their overall emphasis based on personal aspirations and interests (Film Performance, Film Production, Technology, Management.) The Film/TV curricula includes: * Introduction to Entertainment Technology * Film Production (I & II) * Digital Post Production * Storyboarding * Acting I & II * Acting for the Camera (I & II) * Screenwriting (I & II) * Film Internships (with professional Production Companies) * Introduction to Recording Technology * Audio for Digital Media * History of Film * Introduction to Cinema Studies * And Much More This new concentration is offered in collaboration with Baton Rouge Community College.
