This Business Studies BSc will appeal to you if you are passionate about understanding how global finance and economic activity impact on business strategy, and how organisations compete with each other globally. You will study the key issues affecting businesses today, and analyse how they are being played out on the national, international and global stage. Year one provides a strong grounding in business ideas and methods and in years two and three you build on that knowledge base with a focus on economics, finance or strategy. Through this focused study you build up a substantial body of knowledge and practical skills that enable you to make an effective contribution right from the outset of your career

The course prepares you for a career in business in the public, private or voluntary sectors as it develops commercial awareness and skills that are in demand with employers, such as the ability to interpret financial data, understanding of organisational behaviour and structure, and a creative approach to problem solving. Recent graduates of the course have gone on to careers such as Operations Officer at the Royal Mail, Sourcing Buyer at IBM and Assistant Manager (Integrated Market Risk) at Lloyds Banking Group.
