Course Description

Three years full-time, four years with placement This industry-focused course is ideal if you have a passion for music and audio production and want to develop a highly attractive portfolio of technical and creative skills that will help you pursue a successful career in the music and other allied industries. The course covers the science and technology of audio and recording systems and how these systems can be used effectively in recording, mixing, mastering and sound design. The course is delivered in conjunction with a commercial recording studio, the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies in Nottingham, allowing you to gain valuable practical experience in an industrial environment working in a real studio with professional recording specialists and musicians. You will develop technical and practical knowledge in a wide range of areas related to audio production. This will give you an attractive portfolio of skills and the ability to pursue careers in areas such as studio recording, audio production and post production, sound system installation, management and sound for film and TV. While the course is predominately targeted at students with an interest in the sound engineering aspects of the music industry, if you have more artistic aspirations you are still encouraged to apply.
