This course is designed to provide work specific skills if you are wanting to work in scientific laboratories, including Forensic Science, Environmental Pharmaceutical and general science laboratories. It is highly practical and you will learn many techniques that are standard practice in general laboratories. By studying on this course, it can potentially open up exciting employment opportunities in cutting edge scientific workplaces and the possibility of further study which can lead on to higher vocational qualifications.

Careers If you want to go straight into employment after completing this course you could work in a research laboratory,a quality control laboratory, a hospital laboratory, a materials testing laboratory, a forensic science laboratory, a laboratory within an educational establishment or an environmental science laboratory. Further Study This qualification fits across a broad range of potential science specialisms, not just forensics, for example (dependant on modules studied) careers in criminology, teaching, and psychology. In addition this qualification can provide entry onto generic and specialist science based degrees such as nursing, pharmaceutical science, forensics and veterinary nursing.
