Course Description

In this major you’ll be introduced to accounting principles, auditing, taxation and relevant areas of business law and financial management. You’ll examine the recording and communication of information relating to the financial performance of organisations. You’ll learn to prepare reports or give advice on an organisation’s record-keeping and compliance requirements, ensuring you are ready for a successful career in any industry sector. Careers in finance can be broadly defined to include corporate finance, financial institutions, financial markets and various branches of the financial services industry. This major will give you a broad understanding of the structure and operations of financial markets in management. You will learn about investment evaluation, decide how to fund activities and understand the roles played by financial markets and instruments.
