The CSUB Department of Public Policy & Administration (PPA) prepares public, nonprofit, and health care leaders who are committed to advancing the public service. Students engage in learning experiences to develop new skills and expertise that prepare them for positions with government agencies at all levels, nonprofit organizations, hospitals and health care agencies, and private organizations with significant government interactions. The Mission of the programs of the Department of Public Policy and Administration at CSU Bakersfield is to develop and enhance the knowledge and skills of current and future managers in government, nonprofit, and health care organizations in the San Joaquin Valley. CSUB PPA offers the following degree programs: * Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Administration * Master of Arts in Public Administration (MPA) * Master of Science in Administration Health Care Management (MSA-HCM) The Department also offers a minor in Public Administration, a minor in Health Care Management, a minor in Nonprofit Management, and “Fast Track” minors for undergraduates are considering the MPA or MSA-HCM programs. Students may also earn a Certificate in Public Administration or a Certificate in Non-Profit Management.
