This one year full-time programme allows you to graduate at the same level as a degree student and with a focused file of knowledge. It is designed for people who have a degree in one area andwant to change their area of specialisation or career. It is also for people who have a level 6 or 7 Diploma and/or several years of relevant work experience who wish to gain a qualification or update their skills in the area they are working. You will learn the theory and application of financial and management accounting processes and practice to include financial reports and taxation regulations. Content includes financial and management accounting at intermediate and advanced levels, taxation and an industry project. This qualification provides a thorough grounding in business and management practice, appropriate for people wishing to enter management roles in business.

Graduates of this diploma will have a sound understanding of the dynamic and changing environment in which managers operate in New Zealand and internationally, that will enable them to apply that knowledge at both organisational and strategic levels in a range of industries and organisations. On reaching the workplace, graduates will have current specialised knowledge and be able to integrate into their workplace environment quickly, having spent time through their course of study in a work context applying the knowledge and skills of the curriculum.
