Forensic Science is the application of the scientific method to analyze evidence that may be presented in a court of law. As a forensic scientist, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of analyses on physical evidence collected from crime scenes as well as for civil investigations, human identification, and transportation or industrial mishaps. In addition to specific courses in forensic science, you will receive a strong background in chemistry and biology. The Forensic Science major at Upper Iowa University is a rigorous curriculum that meets the standards set by the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. In addition to core courses in biology, chemistry, physics and math, you will take courses in evidence collection and processing, as well as forensic practice and ethics.
