Mixed Media Fine Art BA Honours

Course Description

This innovative course was one of the first to offer students the opportunity to explore and develop work across boundaries, within the ever-expanding contemporary fine art disciplines. It encourages creativity, individuality and personal growth, and once you have acquired the basic skills you can negotiate your own individual programme of study with tutors. You are encouraged to bring highly individual approaches to studio practice, coupled with an emphasis on experiential learning; these are the defining factors that have established the course at the cutting edge of contemporary practice. We select only the most dedicated and creative students who have the energy, enthusiasm and commitment that the course requires. Our exceptional team of practising artists teaching theory and practice are supported by state-of-the-art facilities and workshops that are at the forefront of current technical innovation.

Career outcomes

This innovative Fine Art course was one of the first courses to actively facilitate students gaining an insight into the professional context of practice through placements, and has an outstanding track record. Many of these placements lead to future employment but most importantly students gain a first hand insight into some of the exciting possibilities within the expanded field of the creative industries. As well as the placement that students undertake they will actively participate in exhibitions throughout the course gaining invaluable experience into life as a practicing artist. The placements students undertake are very individual and important in identifying future career options.
