Digital data plays an increasingly important role in many areas of endeavour. Extracting information from data has become a science in itself – Data Science. The Bachelor of Data Science focuses on this emerging discipline and includes data analysis, data visualisation, Big Data, Big Models, applied mathematical science and computer programming. Graduates from many disciplines will benefit from skills in Data Science. This course teaches a blend of skills from mathematics, statistics and computing. Graduates will know how to embark on data-driven investigations, and conduct visual and computational analytics for application in their own primary discipline. The Bachelor of Data Science at Western Sydney University can only be completed concurrently or directly following another Bachelor degree and is not considered a stand-alone degree. It can only be taken in combination with an existing Bachelor degree.
