On this integrated masters course you will learn about computational methods in aeronautics and astronautics and will have the opportunity to apply these to new and emerging design challenges. The first two years are identical to the BEng and MEng Aeronautics and Astronautics courses with a combination of engineering technology and management modules being taken in the last two. You will examine current design challenges and learn to solve those using advanced computational methods. We will also develop your understanding of computational fluid dynamics. The first two years will enhance your core knowledge of engineering science. They are identical to the BEng and MEng in Aeronautics and Astronautics. You will also take a practical week-long course in flight testing, where experiments are performed on board a Jetstream aircraft. Design is a central theme in years three and four. You will bring your conceptual designs to life through individual and group projects. Previous project examples include the design and build of an unmanned air vehicle. In your final year, you will have the option to specialise in your theme with modules including Design Search Optimisation and Finite Element Analysis for Mechanics.
