Mathematicians are in great demand throughout business, but particularly in the financial sector as a whole. You can look forward to a career in areas such as international banking, accountancy, the stock market, financial consultancy, government and the civil service. In recent years mathematicians have developed sophisticated techniques which help to forecast some of the fluctuations which take place in world stock and commodity markets and underpin many financial products such as stock options and futures. As well as studying the relevant mathematics, you will encounter such subjects as economics, accounting, financial management and the interesting area of futures and options.

Employability is embedded into modules from the first year onwards and right from the first lecture.
