The course will assess how banks and financial institutions function in developing and emerging economies. You will also consider the role played by finance in facilitating or blocking economic development. Core modules provide a critical understanding of current theories and empirical research in finance as well as economic development. Students often come from a range of backgrounds and nationalities including Brazil, Canada, China, India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Turkey, mainland Europe and the UK.
