You could enter careers in marketing, banking and finance, consultancies, management accountancy, the civil service, retailing and other service industries. Gaining a strong grounding in the functional areas of business and exploring the key themes and emerging challenges facing business in a global context is central to the course. This encompasses both the 'internal' environment of the firm- such as human resources, organisational behaviour and utilising financial and accounting information, ethical management, IT management and entrepreneurship - and the 'external' environment - such as markets, marketing, strategy, corporate finance, corporate social responsibility, the cultural context in which firms operate and entrepreneurial direction. Throughout the degree you will develop a high level of understanding of your chosen country's written and spoken language and gain a deep understanding of the country's culture and business practices. In the fourth and final year there are no core modules which focus on business and management, instead you will examine areas already studied at a more advanced level, selecting from a wide range of optional modules, allowing you to tailor your degree programme to suit your individual interests and ambitions.
