This Medical Sciences degree is for students who want to understand the science behind medicine and ultimately improve the lives of patients. You will study the structure and function of the human body in health and disease and gain a solid understanding of contemporary basic science principles that underpin clinical medicine.

This course will equip you for a career in the biomedical/medical sciences, including careers within the NHS, biochemistry, physiology and medical research. It will also prepare you to work towards a career within the allied health professions. The program is also suitable for students who want a course that can prepare them for direct entry to medical school in Dundee or elsewhere. Students who attain an degree qualification of upper second (2:1) or higher would be eligible for transfer to Dundee's MBChB course, subject to also achieving the required standard in the UK clinical aptitude test (UKCAT) and Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI).
