What is Communication Sciences and Disorders ? The entry level Master’s degree program in speech-language pathology is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. The program involves an in-depth study of the various disorders of communication coupled with practicum experience in the area of study. The Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology requires two years of study. Students with an undergraduate major in a field other than speech and hearing must complete specific undergraduate requirements prior to entering the program. Sixteen doctoral faculty in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, as well as faculty in other departments and adjunct faculty in the community, provide expertise and research mentoring in a wide variety of scientific and clinical aspects of speech-language pathology.
