Course Description

About BA Classical Studies In your first two years, you will explore core topics in the literary and artistic culture of the Greek and Roman world and its legacy in the modern world. You will also choose optional units on literature, philosophy, art and history, some of which may be taken in other departments. You may choose to study an ancient language, such as Greek, Latin or Sanskrit. In the third year, you will choose special subject seminars based on the wide range of research interests pursued by our staff, such as: Tragedy and Cinema Ecology in the Ancient World Time, Temporality, and Texts. You will also choose a subject of special interest to you and, in co-operation with a supervisor, research and write a dissertation of 12,000 words.
