Programme overview The most recent Research Assessment Exercise (2008) saw the Bristol Department of Finance and Accounting rated fourth in its Unit of Assessment. The result is a true reflection of the high research quality within the Department. Research in the Department spans a number of areas, primarily in empirical finance, management accounting and public sector accounting.

Careers after an PhD in Accounting and Finance The programme provides excellent preparation for careers in investment management, trading, consulting and corporate finance. Another popular route for graduates is to pursue specific research interests or academia.
