MEng Civil Engineering

Course Description

About MEng Civil Engineering The first two years of our degrees cover the basics of structures, mathematics, soil and fluid mechanics, computing, surveying and some optional units. You may transfer between the BEng and MEng courses during the first two years. More optional units are introduced in the third year, together with key professional skills and a major investigative project. Design is the mainstream of the course at Bristol, and this is reflected in the projects you will undertake throughout your degree, including a group project in the fourth year based on real design problems that have emerged through our links with industry. This degree is accredited by Joint Board of Moderators under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. An accredited degree will provide you with some or all of the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng).
