About BSc Physiological Science This degree builds on core units as you progress to the final year, when you will be studying at the forefront of current research in physiology. You can also take optional units in areas of particular interest to you. Year one introduces the principles of cellular physiology and the functions of the major body systems. Second-year units cover neurophysiology, cellular physiology and integrative physiology. Practical teaching is enhanced by our on-line dynamic lab manual, eBiolabs. In year three, you choose from a range of seminar courses taught by research-active staff at the cutting edge of current research. You will also complete a supervised practical project chosen from a wide range of topics. A fully integrated programme of activities is designed to develop your transferable personal and professional skills, such as computer, verbal, written and presentation skills.
