About BEng Electronic and Communications Engineering This degree focuses on communications-related electronics. The first two years are common across most of the degrees in the department, which allows you transfer between them up to the start of the third year as your interests develop. Years one and two provide a grounding in mathematics, computing, analogue electronic circuits and components, communications, electromagnetics, power electronics and control. This underpins more advanced study in the later part of your degree. Practical work runs throughout the course. In the final year you will undertake a solo project, and will have the opportunity to take optional subjects to suit your interests.
