About MEng Electronic and Communications Engineering This degree focuses on communications-related electronics. The first two years are common across most of the degrees in the department, allowing you to transfer between them up to the start of the third year as your interests develop. Years one and two provide grounding in mathematics, computing, analogue electronic circuits and components, communications, electromagnetics, power electronics and control. This underpins more advanced study in the later years of your degree. Practical work runs throughout the course, and in year three takes the form of a group project. In year four, you will undertake a solo research project, and will have the opportunity to take optional subjects to suit your interests.
