MArts Digital Arts

Course Description

The degree comprises two pathway choices ‒ each self-contained and addressing a key area of contemporary digital engagement; each one tailored to the needs of a particular creative individual. Creative Practice is designed for those students who have something to express and who wish to develop their arts practice far beyond the realms of traditional painting, drawing and sculpture. It aims to populate the world with a new breed of practising digital artist; someone who is adept at communicating with personal, local, national and global audiences. Media Development deals with the heart of our digital culture ‒ designing websites, coding Apps for mobile devices, creating databases that shape huge amounts of data into something usable, imagining how devices interconnect, shaping the always-on digital content. It aims to create tech-savvy and highly informed individuals, ready to shape the digital landscape of the future.
