Career outcomes

There is a buoyant market for biomedical scientists. Successful completion of the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science, followed by a year of inservice training, will enable you to become a registered biomedical scientist in the NHS. Students who graduate with BSc (Hons) Applied Biomedical Science can apply for registration at the point of graduation. Many alternative employment opportunities exist within the private sector, in veterinary and agricultural laboratories, pharmaceutical industries and sales and marketing. Medical Training with the American University of Antigua Many students who study for a degree in Biomedical Sciences aspire to progress to graduate training in medicine. Whilst gaining a place on a UK programme is extremely competitive, there are other opportunities for you to be able to achieve your ambitions. To this end, we have established a relationship with the American University in Antigua that enables good students from our degree the opportunity to study for a medical degree upon graduation, spending 2 years in Antigua followed by 2 years in the UK, USA or Canada. Scholarships are available for a limited number of outstanding students each year more details available here.
