Course Description

The research aims of the School are to conduct high-quality, fundamental studies of value to international industries and to prepare research students for employment in these industries. Staff have strong relationships with international industry and with other leading institutions. Research is split across three clusters: Advanced Materials and Processing Aerospace and Manufacturing Clean Energies The Advanced Materials and Processing cluster undertakes leading-edge, multidisciplinary research into the processing, modelling and development of high-performance materials across a broad range of applications. The Aerospace and Manufacturing cluster has expertise in digital manufacturing, modelling and simulation, composites and modelling of complex systems. The focus of research within the Clean Energies group is mostly in the areas of Modelling and Simulation, After-treatment, Turbomachinery and Energy from Waste, but does include other projects and applications associated with energy efficiency and thermal management.
