Speech, hearing and language sciences, as well as being areas of study in their own right, form the basic preparatory studies for a number of professions including clinical work in audiology and speech language pathology, as well as involvement in speech, hearing and language research; forensic speech science; and the development of associated speech and hearing technologies. As a graduate of this degree, you will also have a solid grounding in linguistics that can take you into areas such as teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) or editing and publishing, or any career that requires a strong background in human communication such as journalism, marketing, education or management. You can choose from a wide range of electives either as companion units to speech, hearing and language sciences, or units of individual interest.
