MEng (Hons) Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Sandwich

Course Description

Harnessing the powers of electricity and electromagnetism began in earnest over two hundred years ago and has transformed the way humans live. From the light bulb to the internet, it is impossible to imagine a world without electricity and electronics. A modern integrated circuit may contain several billion miniaturised transistors in a few square centimetres and is capable of doing the most extraordinary things. This digital revolution offers limitless possibilities for those with the right knowledge and toolset - electronic and electrical engineers. Electronic and Electrical Engineering is integral to and embedded in the smooth functioning of our everyday lives. From mobile phones and computing, through to household gadgets, healthcare equipment, automotive and aerospace technology and on to transport infrastructure, defence and utility provision, there is hardly an aspect of the modern world that does not rely on systems and components designed and integrated by Electronic and Electrical Engineers. Our long-established, constantly updated course is very well regarded by employers and is fully accredited in both BEng and MEng versions. The early part of the course gives a thorough grounding in the subjects required by qualified, practising Electronic and Electrical Engineers.
