This programme covers the main branches of geography whilst offering a wide choice of module options. The programme comprises a total of 360 credits taken over three years. Students registered for a BA are expected to take predominantly human geography modules. The third year includes a compulsory dissertation, known as the Independent Geographical Study (or IGS), which involves individual research. Students are always encouraged to undertake their own research, whether it is for coursework, practicals or the IGS. Working and studying at the frontiers of research are considered essential components of a successful geography degree.
