The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry - General Chemistry is accredited by the American Chemical Society. The general chemistry major prepares the graduate for the many diverse career opportunities available to the chemist in government, private industry and academia. The general chemistry major is similar to the research chemistry major but with greater flexibility for the addition of electives during the senior year. It also provides excellent preparation for professional or graduate schools, or for a career in industry.
