The programme of study has been designed to provide a coherent course of study aimed at providing the student with an in depth knowledge of International Business theory and practice and to meet the challenges of Globalisation. International Business differs greatly from business conducted in a purely domestic context. The most obvious contrast is that International Business takes place between two or more nations which have entirely different political, economic, cultural and commercial environments. Because such business activities take place outside regulatory control of any single national state, students need to be aware of the growth of international regulatory regimes and their impact upon the way in which international business activities operates. The programme seeks to build upon the students prior learning by way of a balance between modules which provide an opportunity for challenging intellectual inquiry alongside the development the vocational skills which prepare students for employment. The latter skills will be developed through a compulsory work based learning module.
