The Design and Visual Arts program trains students in the fundamental foundational principles of design and creative thinking in the first year of the program, and in the second year, focuses on working in an artist mentored, personal project-based environment to develop and expand visual arts skills in painting, illustration, printmaking, and mixed media. Whether students are beginners or practicing artists, this program will help them prepare a varied portfolio of work to be used for entry into the art/design industry or for entry into advanced design or fine art diploma/degree programs. The first year of the program is the Art and Design Fundamentals Certificate program. In this program, students will experiment with a diverse cross-section of style and media, including drawing, two- and three- dimensional design, illustration, graphic design, web design, digital photography, and multimedia, and portfolio development.
