Course Description

This new, four year integrated Critical Safety Engineering course masters course will prepare you for work as a professional electronic engineer with the knowledge and skills needed to specify, design, manage and audit safety critical systems, and will provide graduate employment opportunities in utility companies, the transportation industry, the public sector and other industrial enterprises. During the Critical Safety Engineering course course you will gain extensive practical experience to ensure that you develop sound practical skills as well as a thorough theoretical knowledge. You will study both general aspects of electronic engineering and more specialized modules.

Career outcomes

Graduates in Critical Safety Engineering MEng (Hons) will have excellent career prospects in the fast-growing power generation and power distribution sectors, including low-carbon and renewable generation as well as transportation sector. Many will take up engineering posts in power stations, with power transmission and distribution network operators, or government or private research and development facilities. Graduates will also be valuable in many other sectors where a rigorous attitude to health and safety is required. Graduates will in addition be well-versed in the general principles of Electronic Engineering, with all the career opportunities those skills entail.
