Banking and Italian BA (Hons)

Course Description

This Joint Honours degree course, offers the opportunity to study Banking and another major subject - Italian. It will provide you with advanced skills in the Italian language and a broad range of specialised and detailed insights into the culture, society and history that go with it. The degree has language at the heart of it, with core modules developing the key oral, aural and written skills every year. These modules also foster cultural awareness, which you will need for your year abroad, and later on, for the world of work. Banking offers you the opportunity to study the theory and practice of financial services and financial markets, and to analyse the broader role of the financial sector in the national and global economies. Banking and financial services is a highly competitive and rapidly changing sector in every modern economy. In recent years, forces such as globalisation, technological change, deregulation and international integration have transformed the banking and financial services sector.

Career outcomes

Studying Modern Languages opens the door to a wide variety of careers. Many Bangor Modern Languages graduates have, of course, gone into teaching and translating, but just as many have embarked upon successful careers in the civil service, business and commerce, industry and the media.
