This wide-ranging course explores the media in national and international contexts, and will equip you with the skills you need for the global jobs market. Our lecturers and tutors are experienced academics and industry professionals who specialise in different aspects of the media field - and we cover all the different aspects of media including the internet and digital media, video and film making, radio and sound production, print media and publishing. You’ll also study the issues surrounding technology, the economy, society, gender, popular culture and the global information age. There’s a strong practical element. You’ll learn the production techniques behind various media and will be able to create your own work as part of your course - using the industry-standard production facilities at our Media and Journalism Centre in Peterborough city centre. The Centre has the latest software and editing equipment, as well as working television and radio studios. Our students and staff are currently using it to produce a film about Peterborough Cathedral for its 900th anniversary year – and this is just one of the group projects you can take part in.
