Through lectures and seminars you’ll gain a thorough understanding of the engineering field and key engineering principles. Work-based learning, group sessions and practical lab sessions will then give you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learnt and develop your practical engineering skills. The core modules cover everything you’ll need to work as a competent engineering technician, including computer modelling, engineering mathematics and statistical methods for quality assurance. You’ll also be thoroughly prepared for the challenges of different engineering functions, such as materials, quality assurance, process, production and test. Plus you’ll learn about fields such as mechatronics, applied mechanics and applied software. Throughout the course we’ll challenge and develop your creativity, problem-solving abilities and team-working skills using real-life engineering problems and scenarios. This will not only keep things interesting but also prepare you perfectly for the workplace.
