You’ll develop the theoretical, technical and practical understanding you need to catch the eye of employers. There’ll be lectures and seminars combined with work-based learning and plenty of course options to personalise your studies. Year one provides a detailed introduction to computer systems, design and programming and you’ll apply what you learn on your first work placement. Year two covers specialisms such as databases, software engineering and networks – and there’s a further work placement. Whatever branch of technology you want to enter, from mobile apps to international business systems, supercomputer research to the web, this course is a solid step in the right direction – to a good job or towards higher qualifications and research. By the time you graduate, you’ll be a confident computer scientist and engineer with a sound understanding of the main principles, valuable work experience and the ability to create applications and solutions using different technologies.
