Civil engineering means getting out there and making a difference to the world around us. Major projects like roads, buildings, tunnels and flood protection are all designed, constructed and improved by civil engineers. With us, you’ll explore the concepts, theories and principles of civil engineering, and its underpinning science and mathematics. You’ll make full use of our specialist workshops and facilities so that you’re confident in conducting experiments and analysing results to create solutions to engineering challenges and problems. In preparation for work as a professional, you’ll learn to work as part of a design team – and look at issues relating to the technology of buildings, surveying, the law, human resource management, health and safety, ethics, and risk. Site visits and guest lecturers will connect you with industry.
