Biomedical science explores the processes of disease, from the molecular and cellular to the organ and organism level. You will be joining the Biomedical Research Group, which specialises in the molecular and cellular mechanisms underpinning the pathogenesis and aetiology of a range of human diseases, which also extend to interests in veterinary pathologies. Diseases we focus on include cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, inflammatory and immune diseases, and diseases of infection. We offer PhDs in specific subjects such as microbiology, immunology or molecular biology.
