Course Description

Fear, dread, excitement, exhilaration, sadness, longing, grief – emotions you might feel when playing on your Xbox, watching a movie at the cinema, or listening to your favourite group or orchestra. In each case the music changes to match the mood the producer, games developer, song writer or composer wants to create. Contemporary music creation (composition, performance, recording, diffusion) is an essential component of modern media productions. This course is for those from both traditional and contemporary backgrounds who have a genuine interest in music and can discuss and demonstrate their engagement with music making in any of its guises. You may have had formal or informal music education, or indeed a mixture of the two. Your studies will consolidate your current knowledge and experience of music and lead you to challenge, extend and enhance your capabilities in order to become a professional musician.
