Accounting is known as the language of business, because it is the mechanism for reporting financial information about a business to internal and external constituents, and hence it is a primary means of organizational communication. The SLU Master of Accounting program will help students enhance not only their professional accounting skills, but also develop strong technical skills, including analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. SLU accounting graduates have a long history of success on the CPA exam, earning the Missouri gold medal on several occasions and regularly placing in the top ten. In addition, SLU recently had the highest Missouri pass rate for first-time candidates with advanced degrees. The Cook School, with its continuing mission to provide excellence in business education, has developed a program to help students develop strong ethical, technical and professional accounting skills, and provides in-depth expertise in general accounting, taxation, and auditing.
