Prospective Computer Science students must have a BSc degree in Computer Science or related fields. The program will lead to a MSc or a PhD degree. The proposed MSc study plan is as follows (semesters 1-4): • 4 graduate courses in computer science (5 ECTS each, semesters 1/2) • 4 graduate research labs in computer science (5 ECTS each, semesters 1/2) • 2 research projects in computer science (10 ECTS each, semesters1/2) • Master Thesis Proposal (semester 3, 30 ECTS) and Master Thesis (semester 4, 30 ECTS) PhD studies encompass (semesters 5-10): • Individual work on the PhD dissertation • Courses and seminars on an individual basis

Graduates of the Smart Systems program will master state-of-the-art methods to design, and implement the information processing systems of our future. Among the career options are (post-) doctoral fellows in computer science research; IT project/team leaders and managers; and CTOs in Internet companies. Career paths of past Smart Systems students include Google Research, SAP Research, Goldman Sachs, own startup companies, ETH Zurich, and many more renown universities in the US and all over the world.
