This undergraduate 3D designer maker course focuses on the ‘made object’, allowing you to explore materials, techniques and processes in relation to one-off or batch produced objects. The course is the ideal choice if you're interested in a career as an independent designer maker, furniture or product designer. Alongside research and design developments skills you will increase your practical skills through extensive hands-on exploration. Students recently exhibited work at the Milan expo as part of a University delegation for ‘Birmingham Made Me a Milano’. The BMM15 Capsule Expo featured a range of products designed by Birmingham City University students of 3D Design, fashion, jewellery and interiors. The work was also exhibited at Selfridges in Birmingham. Both exhibitions provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase work at nationally and internationally recognised venues. Working with students and industry partners from other disciplines provided a valuable insight into the nature of collaborative practice.
