James Cook University i(JCU) s a leading research university based in Queensland, Australia, and international students have been coming to our campuses for many years to further their education and gain qualifications that are recognised world-wide. Our main campuses are in Townsville and Cairns, in tropical northern Queensland and we have an international campus in Singapore and a campus in Brisbane operated by Russo Higher Education Pty Ltd. Total student enrolments are more than 18,000 and growing, including over 5,000 international students from 100 countries. There are over 300 programs available to international students to study at JCU. JCU is Queensland’s second oldest university and was established in 1970 to be a “University for the Tropics”. Its mandate is to conduct research and teaching on areas of particular relevance to the tropics, a region that is the home of nearly half the world’s people and 85% of its biodiversity.
